Festive treat is a real dog's dinner!
by Holly Rummens

A MAGHULL based animal shelter have been given 200 festive dog dinners following a nationwide social media competition, organised by pet food brand, Webbox.

Carla Lane Animals in Need beat of competition from thousands of other shelters across the country, with more than 850 people nominating the deserving charity.

Members of the local community were crediting the team for their hard work for homeless dogs across the region.

Caroline Cassidy, manager at Carla Lane Animals in Need, said: “We’re thrilled with the donation we have received from Webbox and can’t thank the company enough.

”As you can imagine, winter in particular can be a tough time of year for us but, thanks to this prize, all of our dogs will have their own Christmas dinner this year.“

Julie Butcher, head of marketing at Webbox, added: ”It’s heart-warming to see how many people are keen to help local shelters at this time of year, and we are thrilled to have been able to assist.

“We had a large number of entries for Carla Lane Animals in Need, so the shelter is obviously a more than worthy winner.”

The manufacturer is set to deliver up to 1,000 free meals from its Natural Festive Dinner Tray range to shelters across the UK by December 25.

Caroline said: “It was amazing to see so many kind words from people nominating us for this prize. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to send in their nominations, as well as the team from Webbox for such a great gift – it really has made our Christmas!”
