Police crackdown on unsocial behaviour
by Tom Martin

POLICE are looking to crackdown on a rise in anti-social behaviour around the South Park area.

There have been increased reports of youths hanging around the Bootle park and Kings Gardens, which is causing problems for local residents.

Officers have been able to identify some of the trouble-makers and letters have been sent out warning of “possible action” if it continues.

Police are working with Sefton Council in a bid to ease any concerns that locals may have about youths in the parks.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “There has been a rise in anti-social behaviour in the areas surrounding Kings Park and South Park. This has resulted in a number of vulnerable victims being identified in the residential areas surrounding the park.

”Our team have worked with these victims and with assistance from the community have identified possible offenders who have all been spoken with and ASB letters issued to them warning of possible action if behaviour continues.

“We are working with the council in relation to this and also communicating with the major housing associations to ensure we have the maximum effect on any disruption of offenders and offering the best possible care to victims.”
