FOUR men were arrested in Blakehall, Skelmersdale after reports someone had been seen in the area with what is believed to be a firearm.
Police attended the scene at about 6.30am on Wednesday, October 9.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We were called at around 6.30am today (Wednesday, October 9th) to Blakehall, Skelmersdale, to reports someone had been seen in the area with what is believed to be a firearm.
“Police officers attended and two men were arrested. We carried out negotiations with two further people, who were inside a flat on Blakehall, and a short time later arrested two more men. All four were arrested in relation to firearms offences.
“Blakehall was partially closed for a short time but has since reopened. We would like to thank local residents for their patience.”
