Youngster thrilled to win Woodlands Lodge Care Home’s ‘Name Our Salon’ competition

A SEVEN year old has won Woodlands Lodge Care Home’s ‘Name Our Salon’ competition.

The team at the Lodge on Church Road appealed to members of the community to help them select a suitable name for their in-house hair salon. The entry that stood out the most to the home’s residents was ‘Woodlands Under the Dryer’ by Theo Graham, from Formby.

Lesley Malone, events organiser at the care group said: “To thank Theo for his help and creativity, he received a £25 Amazon voucher and a selection of delicious sweets. On July 10, Theo and his mum, Emma, collected his well-deserved prize via a drive-by pick up, following coronavirus guidelines.

“When able, Theo will be invited back to the home to unveil the revamped salon with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside the Mayor of Sefton, Cllr June Burns. We have also arranged for him to join us next year on our football tours around Everton and Liverpool’s stadiums with his family, friends and our residents.

“Theo and his family have close links to Woodlands Lodge and the local community as they have live behind the Lodge and have watched it develop from a construction site to a welcoming home. Theo often gives residents a big smile and wave through the window and regularly keeps in touch with letters and pictures to help those that might be feeling a little lonely during lockdown.”
