A BURSCOUGH singer who is part of an ABBA tribute act hopes to be the winner that takes it all after she was nominated for an award!
Becky Casey, who has over 12 years experience in the entertainment industry, has been shortlisted for the North Regional Entertainment Awards 2020.
The winner is decided by a vote, which is due to end today (Wednesday, August 19) at 1pm, and the top 10 acts with the most votes will represent their region at the online regional ceremony.
Becky has a solo touring cabaret as well as runs an ABBA tribute act, with experience singing abroad.
She has also appeared in theatre productions as well as TV shows, including Blue Peter, Hollyoaks and Cucumber.
She said: “I’m not expecting to win, but to be in the top ten would be a lovely achievement. I was born in Ormskirk and attended a stage school originally called Trinity stage school and what is now West Lancs Performing Arts.
“I went on to study performing arts musical theatre full time at Southport College and trained as a dance teacher at the stage school during my college years.
“I started working professionally in 2007 for Thomson Gold adult only holidays, since then I have worked across various holiday locations including Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands, Rhodes, Cyprus, Germany, Cape Verde.
“I’m currently doing gigs in and around Lancashire, but moving forward looking to front a live band.
“The coronavirus put a stop to a contract as a solo cabaret on a SAGA River Cruise, which will hopefully take place in 2021.”
