A Crosby audiology business has increased its capacity by opening additional clinics in Bootle, tackling a five-month lockdown backlog of audiology appointments in the area.
The new clinics, run by the audiology team based at Specsavers in Crosby, take place at North Park Surgery in Bootle, and significantly expands on the six audiology clinics a week already taking place at the Crosby Village store.
The expansion offers local people more choice of locations to access audiology services and it is hoped it will help ease the pressure on the local NHS.
The well-equipped North Park Surgery location is also a doctor’s practice. It is very spacious, has its own entrance for audiology patients, so social distancing is easily achieved.
The extra clinics in Bootle are also a support to Bootle’s Specsavers store in The Strand, which has also been facing more pressure and demand for its services.
Nichola Williams, audiology director who leads the team across the Crosby and Bootle sites, is delighted about the expansion of clinics, which also marks one year of her launching her audiology business, initially starting at Crosby Specsavers.
She says: ‘The expansion to the North Park site in Bootle is a great achievement for our local team.
‘We’ve been providing local services here for a year now, so to increase our capacity so much in one year and during challenging times is a testament to our team – we want local people to know we are here for them and open for care.’
