TO rally up egg-citement around the Easter weekend, Brookside extra care scheme in Ormskirk launched an egg themed competition for their residents.
The scheme, managed and owned by Your Housing Group, has seen staff pulling out all the stops to ensure that despite restrictions, each and every one of their residents enjoys the Easter period that they deserve.
With a free Easter egg raffle to involve all residents, staff decided to purchase eggs themselves to then draw names out of a hat on Thursday, April 1 and gift some lucky customers a chocolate treat.
Alongside this, Brookside ran an Easter competition in which they asked residents to create an egg diorama scene with a prize on offer for the most appealing design.
In order to insight creativity into the minds of residents, staff at Brookside created their own diorama scene matching the look of their office.
With personal staff egg characters and intricate details found in the scene, their project inspired many residents to get involved and design their own miniscule artwork.
The competition ran until April 1 and a winner was selected and presented with a prize. Residents were encouraged to vote for their favourite scene while they were displayed at the main reception at Brookside.
The project aimed to fill some much-needed joy in a time while remaining apart has become so apparent to us all.
Susan Thomas, scheme manager at Brookside said “Thank you to all the residents who took part - they were all eggcellent! We really do have a wonderful community here at Brookside."
