Teenage cyclist badly injured in hit and run

A TEENAGE cyclist needed hospital treatment after a hit-and-run incident in Litherland.

The 15-year-old was on his pedal bike next to the roundabout at the junction of Hatton Hill Road and Sefton Road when there was a collision with a car.

The teen was rushed to hospital with a serious arm injury.

The driver of the car left the scene without stopping or providing any details.

Police are investigating the incident and looking for potential witnesses to come forward with information.

The incident happened at around 1pm on Saturday, April 24.

Matrix Roads Policing Inspector Stuart McIver said: “To leave the scene of any accident is a serious matter, and we’re keen to trace the driver to assist our enquiries, and speak to any witnesses to this collision. Thankfully the boy involved is recovering.

“If you were passing the location and saw or captured the incident or the vehicle involved, send any information, CCTV or dashcam footage to us and we will take action.”
