AN Edge Hill University academic has been elected to represent the UK on a key influential board to improve management education across Europe at a crucial time as the country navigates the aftermath of Brexit.
Professor Paresh Wankhade has been re-elected to serve on the European Academy of Management (EURAM) board and will utilise his position to forge new links with academics across Europe, contribute to debates about research management themes, and explore the possibility of opening up new sources of funding for UK research.
EURAM aims at advancing the academic discipline of management in Europe. As the UK’s representative on the EURAM board, Paresh will help guide the organisation’s agenda and build links with management experts and academics from more than 60 countries. His role is especially important as the UK is now out of the European Union, requiring new networks to be created.
Paresh said: “It is a great honour to have been re-elected to the EURAM board for another three years. My election comes at a critical time for UK academia with Brexit bringing huge changes to the access that British universities have to funding and research networks.”
