A HARD working group of volunteers have replanted around 1,000 daffodils at the Marie Curie Field of Hope in Formby.
The daffodils previously existed as a memorial to loved ones who had lost their lives to cancer but were mistakenly removed when development started at the Barratts/David Wilson Homes site nearby.
Around 25 Formby residents joined Cllr Nina Killen and representatives from David Wilson Homes, including director Andrew Taylor, in planting 1,000 daffodil bulbs at the site on Liverpool Road.
Cllr Killen said: “Thank you to all the volunteers who joined us to replant. It was a fabulous turnout in great weather.
“The daffodil garden is extremely important to many people and they were understandably upset when it was dug up. I am sure everyone is looking forward to seeing the daffodils bloom next spring.”
