THE Year 4 children at St James’ Primary in Ashurst in Skelmersdale, were delighted to link up online with a real life Amazonian via Zoom as part of their Geography topic on South America.
Their teacher, Mrs Bell, made links with Ryan who lives in the region and who works tirelessly to educate others about saving the rainforest.
The children thought of some questions and sent them to him. He replied by making them their own personalised 30 minute video - he even ventured into the rainforest itself, bringing learning to life.
Mrs Bell said: “The children were astounded to hear their names and have their personal questions answered from more than 5,000 miles away.
“It has really helped to bring the topic to life and has inspired the children to be passionate about saving our planet.”
