All Souls can’t wait to get the show on the road

by Henry James (October 2021)

MEMBERS of All Souls Dramatic Club have announced details of their new panto ‘The Snow Queen’ which will be staged at The Atkinson in January.

Leading the cast in the return of All Souls to the Atkinson are local NODA award winning actors Chloe Hughes, Ian Lawson, Hayleigh Griffin and writer, director and Dame Cliff Gillies. They are joined by an extensive pool of local dancers, singers and technical team.

For the first time in 60 years, All Souls had no choice but the cancel their usual January show dates earlier this year following the success of their previous pantomime Aladdin, one of the last live productions in January 2020 before lockdown.

Chairperson, John Hardiker continued: “It’s been such a challenging time for all amateur theatre companies but we worked hard to maintain contact with our membership and audiences as well as planning the return to the stage when we were able.

“We are so happy to be back doing in person rehearsals and meetings and have adapted our procedures in line with guidance issued around amateur theatre. We can’t wait to get this show on the road!”

The Snow Queen pantomime is based around the original Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale and tells the story of two friends, Kai and Gerda as they battle with good and evil.

Award winning production team Cliff Gillies, writer and director, Katie Palfrey, choreographer and Chloe Hughes, musical director and vocal coach are returning to the group to bring this pantomime to the stage.

Tickets are now on sale from The Atkinson Box Office. The Snow Queen will be performed between January 13 and 23 with some matinee performances available.

People can book in person at the Box Office on Lord Street, book online at or call on 01704 533333.
