MORRISONS in Southport town centre has revealed expansion plans for the Esplanade site.
Store bosses have submitted a planning application to extend the building and incorporate a ‘Market Kitchen’.
The new facility will serve fresh food and means customers can have their breakfast, lunch or evening meal made-to-order by a chef, at the same time as popping in for their groceries.
The planning application states: “The project scheme is to provide a new extension to the North-East elevation of the existing Morrisons supermarket retail facility already trading.
“The retail supermarket, car parking and petroleum facilities are currently trading within site just off Victoria Way which is outside the heritage conservation area.
“The overall construction of the extension will be in keeping with the surround veneer of the area and in keeping with the adjacent heritage site.”
