A CANNABIS farm, a large amount of cash, a machete, two crossbows and an air weapon have been seized by police after they managed to stop a drugs deal in Waterloo.

At around 6.30pm on Saturday, June 18, officers witnessed a suspected drugs deal taking place in a private hire vehicle on Hicks Road and Glendower Road. Officers detained the driver, searched the vehicle and recovered multiple wraps of suspected cocaine.

The driver, a 42-year-old man from Formby, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

A search of a property in Formby was then carried out when a cannabis farm consisting of 14 plants, suspected cannabis, cash, a machete, two crossbows and an air weapon (shown, right) were found.

The 42-year-old man was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and possession of criminal property.
