CAMPAIGNERS hoping to make improvements at the Botanic Gardens have been given a £5,000 donation by Lib Dem councillors from their council-provided ward funds .
The Make a Change for Botanic Gardens group has welcomed the cash boost from Cllrs John Dodd, Gareth Lloyd-Johnson and Yaso Sathiy, who all represent the Meols ward.
The money will go towards the ongoing work of the group, who want to dredge the lake as well as carry out other repairs, renovations and initiatives.
Councillor Sathiy said: “We have always supported projects within Botanic Gardens and we felt it was important to continue that support, especially for the plans to dredge the lake.
“The Make a Change group and the long-standing work of the Botanic Gardens Community Association have both achieved a great deal and their drive to improve the Gardens is wonderful to see.”
