School could win new canopy

by Tom Martin (June 2022)

BIRKDALE High School is hopeful of winning a £15,000 canopy to give some much-needed shelter to children during the hot weather.

The school has entered a national competition, with the school receiving the most votes being awarded the canopy (above).

A school spokesperson said: “We have a vast open field next to the tennis courts therefore the open spaces during break and lunch times is very open.

“The canopy will provide pupils with essential shelter while still experiences the heat and fresh air.

“This would provide a quiet space to help with their personal well-being, maybe staff would join them for some healthy debate.”

The vote closes on Friday (July 15). To vote, visit www.aandslandscape.co.uk/competition-page/
