A TIME capsule has been buried at Shoreside Primary School to help mark its 50th anniversary.
Pupils and staff carefully selected items to preserve in the ground, which will then be dug up and opened in 2072 when the school celebrates its 100th anniversary!
Head of school, Matthew Power, said: “Items such as school uniform, children’s work, photographs and letters were included in the box. Pupils also completed a range of activities including writing poetry about the school, creating 50th-inspired artwork and imagining what marketing materials would have been used to promote the school opening fifty years ago.
“Pupils have really enjoyed talking about what life would have been like for pupils at Shoreside in 1972 and comparing this to their own experiences in 2022.”
