CCGs say they will look to improve the services offered by Sefton GPs

by Tom Martin (June 2022)

THE borough’s CCGs - due this week to be brought under the umbrella of a new organisation, a statutory Integrated Care Board run by NHS Cheshire and Merseyside (see our front page story) - say  improvements could be made at Sefton-based GP practices

Both South Sefton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Southport and Formby CCG say they will use the results of this report, as well as its own “engagement with the public” to identify possible improvements.

A spokesperson said: “We continue to work with Healthwatch, and as CCGs, we have carried out our own engagement with the public where people have given their feedback about access to their own GP practice in Sefton.

Results

“We will be looking at these results alongside the findings from Healthwatch and government guidance, and will work with GPs and  Primary Care Networks  to understand where improvements may be made.”

In line with the disestablishment of NHS Southport and Formby Clinical Commissioning Group, from July 1, 2022 its website will no longer be updated.

In its place, an NHS Cheshire and Merseyside website went live on July 1. The new web address can be found at: www.cheshire andmerseyside.nhs.uk
