Tarleton and Hesketh Bank PACT meetings moved to new venue
by David Simister

RESIDENTS of Tarleton, Hesketh Bank and the surrounding areas are being urged to have their say on the area's crime and policing at a meeting next week.

The Police and Communities Together (PACT) representing the villages said they will hold their next open meeting in the coffee shop at Booths Supermarket, Hesketh Bank, at 1pm on Thursday, May 3, and the group's members are calling for residents to come along and get involved.

PC Mark Woolston, who will be at the meeting, said: “The Public Participation meetings are designed to give an open forum for any local resident to have their say, raise concerns and find out first-hand what is happening with policing in the village

”We are hoping that moving it to an afternoon and Booths we will be more visible and therefore have more of an impact.“

Following a restructure in 2011, the PACT meetings moved from Tarleton to Hesketh Bank Village Centre in the evenings, but public attendance has been poor. In response to that ECSO (Emergency Community Support Officer) Andy Curry reported that Booths had agreed to host the next meeting during the day to try to encourage the local residents to participate.
