Machine injury

A WEST Lancashire farm worker has been treated in hospital after he suffered injuries to his arm after trapping the limb in an egg grading machine.

The Fire and Rescue Service Wood was called to Moss Lane, Scarisbrick, on Wednesdayafter the man, who has not been identified, suffered lacerations to his arm during the accident.

A spokesperson for the fire service said that the man was freed from the machine by firefighters using a pedal cutter and hand tools, and was treated for his injuries at the scene/

North West Air Ambulance confirmed that they attended the incident, but said that due to the man's condition he was transported by road ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital for further treatment.
