I work for a charity in my spare time walking dogs for owners who are ill or housebound. I regularly walk around Litherland, Seaforth and Bootle. Disused brownfield sites in these areas are in abundance- as are empty properties.

Why aren't these areas used to build the extra 1200 homes Sefton apparently needs to build? Why aren't these empty homes compulsory-purchased and renovated? I'm sure Sefton Council won't have much trouble with this as they seemed to be able to ‘compulsory purchase' land easy enough to construct the Thornton Relief Road.

The old Switch Car site, land opposite The Park Hotel, old derelict buildings on Hawthorne Rd near the bus station, land near where The Coronation pub used to be and land behind Johnsons the cleaners to name but a few would be perfect areas for redevelopment. It would regenerate these communities.

I fear that green belt land will be used instead, ruining the environment and plunging areas of Litherland, Seaforth and Bootle into further decline.
