Friends pay tribute to club death teenager
by Tom Martin

FRIENDS and family of a Crosby teenager who died after a night out in Liverpool held a special remembrance event last weekend.

A large group gathered at the playing fields of St Mary’s School on Saturday, January 9 to release personalised balloons in memory of 19-year-old John Milburn.

As reported in the Champion, the former Chesterfield High School pupil died after falling ill at Liverpool nightclub Cream on Sunday, December 27.

Merseyside Police, who are still investigating the incident, have urged the public not to take drugs during a night out.

Saturday's remembrance event was organised by his friends, where they met up on the field to release balloons which spelt out his name in an emotional tribute.

Another man called Andrew Glaister, 47, from The Isle of Man, also died after he fell ill at around the same time in Cream. Mr Glaister and Mr Milburn are not believed to have known each other.

Officers are still investigating the deaths and anyone with information can call 101.
